I do love my web community, but good lord I easily forget how much it's an echo chamber. "Works offline", to non-up-to-my-knees-in-web does not translate well. First there's the saving the files to their hard drive. Then there's there visiting a URL requires being online.Permalink On twitter.com

It's easy to forget that you need to be online to install anything anywhere. Long gone are the days of visiting the corner shop to pick up a CD on the front of a magazine (heck, I don't even have a CD drive). Then there's the worry that clearing site data uninstalls—Permalink On twitter.com
