Finally solved this bug (cc'd tweet). The board wasn't fully powered. I had power going through _just_ enough to make it look like it was working, but not every breadboard rail was powered and I _think_ it was dipping the power supply causing bits to drop mobile.twitter.com/rem/status/1200787576833159172
