    1. Love this from 1992 on dos and don'ts of web pages. Specifically "The motivation is forward compatibility".     Compatible proof: w3.org/History/19921103-hypertext/hypertext/WWW/DesignIssues/CompatibleProof.html And it worked beautifully. As H2 is only available over SSL (HTTPS being a different port + proto to HTTP) it's understandable that browsers that don't understand HTTPS also don't understand HTTP 2.0.
