    1. I'm at the end of a google/duckduckgo trawl to find a CSS only way to do masonry layout, where content is left to right. Apparently still not possible without the aid of JavaScript for layout calc. (happily proven wrong!)

    I should add, the content is not "perfect" for the problem. Indeed the content is _real_ content so doesn't have a fixed height nor fixed length.
